Shahrzad

Shahrzad is a Persian (Iranian) name commonly given to girls. It is derived from Persian words, with “shahr” meaning “city” and “zad” meaning “born” or “born of.” Thus, the name Shahrzad can be interpreted as “born of the city” or “one who belongs to the city.”
The name Shahrzad is also widely associated with the character of Scheherazade from the collection of Middle Eastern folk tales known as “One Thousand and One Nights” (also called “Arabian Nights”).
